The factory control arm on Ram 1500 trucks has an inherent design flaw that results in the upper ball joint popping out of the control arm at full droop. This occurrs on stock vehicles with the suspension at full droop on a vehicle hoist or floor jack or after installing a leveling or lift kit. The stamped steel OEM control arm simply mushrooms and allows the ball joint to pop out.
